Melting Moments - An evening in the Park.

He walks in the evening inside the park,
The shadows lengthen as the day grows dark.
As the wind quickens and the sun wanes,
He looks at her with silent restraint.

He looks for it, deep inside her eyes,
And wonders if that is where his love ‘lies’,
He finds but silence amidst the grey,
Slowly, he looks away.

She starts speaking in a low voice,
About the talks that that had sounded so nice,
How she had smiled and forgotten the pain,
While they walked hand in hand, drenched by the rain.

He got no flowers, he got no gifts,
But was always there when she threw her fits,
She yelled at him and called him names,
And yet he loved her, always the same.

He loved her, that she knew,
He had thought she loved him too,
And yet she saw just the fun and games,
Playing along, immune to his pain.

And now he walks alone in the park,
His head bowed low, alone in the dark.
She looks at him with a tear in her eye,
And sees him fade as the day dies.
